The Holi scratch (not holy)
Sooo todays blog is about the scratch project I made about Holi but before that let me tell you the story behind its idea and inspiration. This was when we were in Hyderbad, It was the festival of holi and everyone in our comunity was throwing colors at each other and spraying each other with pichkaris (That is a long tube shaped gun which sprays water instead of bullets.) So now I was gonna JOIN IN. Hooray!
The Instruction for Holi for Kids
This is what you need before hand
- Swimsuit and oldish dress so your lovely new dress dosen't get wet? tick.✅
- Some colored powder? tick.✅
- Water balloons bought from nearby shop? tick.✅
This is it! All ready!, Oh I forgot one thing, be prepared for long playtime and have your snacks already, as they will splash and sploosh and spray for hours.
Now if you have got bored of instructions, let me tell you the story behind the Indian festival of Holi.
- He tried to boil Prahlad in oil but Prahlad prayed to Vishnu and the oil became water
- Next thing you know it was a mini swimming pool. Dad tried throwing him off a cliff but many flowers sprang up and acted like a nice, warm, soft bed.
- He tried making an elephant stamp on Prahlad but the elephant wasn't in the mood. What it WAS in the mood for was dancing.
- And many other tries. They obviously failed...
He then settled on a final idea. HE WAS GONNA BURN PRALAD! (Well, not in oil again but in fire.) He also made his sister sit in the fire too.
WHAT!? but isn't sis gonna burn?
She had a special scarf. Whoever wore it would not burn in any fire.
Back in the fire, the scarf MAGICALY floated a bit and then wrapped itself around Pralad. Sadly sis burned away. BUT PRALAD WAS SAVED!
The end...
Cut to today! I woke up and dad told its raining heavily so no school today. I had a wicked smile in my head. . Hooray!
This was good because I had an idea. A scratch project on Holi (not Holy) day. I call it "The Holi Scratch!
Here are the instructions:
- Enter the game.
- Arrow keys to move. you can get colored by moving in the different colors blobs.
- Go back in the pool with showers to refresh your clothes.
- Use 0 and 1 keys to pack and take out Pichkari.
- Pont the mouse to aim at other kids and use space to shoot.
- Try splashing water at someone. With this you get a "Happy Holi"
